Our last couple of years have been dominated by soccer. Keegan started playing select soccer nearly 2 years ago. Konly and Jack both play on rec teams in the fall. Jeff plays mens outdoor on wednesdays, I play womens outdorr on Mondays and indoor on Thursdays. I am still not very good, but I do try hard and they haven't kicked me off yet. Hopefully they won't, since I really enjoy their company.
When I looked into our future I never really figured that this would be what it's like. I am truly a soccer mom. I taxi and cheer and clean uniforms and take lots of pictures. Every year we have to decide where to keep Keegan. We have to ask if Jeff will coach anybody. It is so much better than sitting on the couch watching tv. We are getting exercise. It is good for us, body and mind.
That said Keegan had a great game this morning. We played a team without a great record, but it sometimes gives them an opportunity to shine without the stress. Keegan has a beautiful left foot. He can pick that ball up and over and cross it right in front of the goal and it looks effortless. He was able to put it in the right spot a few (6 or 7 actually) times this morning, but no one could finish it. They were great efforts. Their team is 7-1. They are playing together.
Watching my boys grow and play is so much fun. I watch as they get better. I watch as they struggle. I watch as they learn. But more than anything I watch them grow up. As long as what they are doing still makes them happy I will watch as long as they want.

So this is how we began. The large window upstairs is our room. The three windows downstairs is a family room.
This is the new family room. It looks out on the sport court. Has a slider to the left and a 6' wide opening and room for the boys and all of their toys.
This is the coolest part. At least i think. Our new room. We have 5 people, and only 3 rooms, until now. Now we have a room for everyone. Keegan will have ours, just 3 feet shorter for the new hallway. Konley will have theirs, and Jack will not move. Though I will get to clean his room, since Jeff's dresser has been in it for a few months.
We got carpet today too. THey just finished installing it. Still smells like a hot glue gun up there. But I have carpet. ANd as soon as I have baseboards we will move. I AM SO EXCITED! It's been a long 6 months. I, stupidly, thought we might be done around Christmas. Think again.
My husband has done an amazing job! People have come out of the woodwork to help us. We weren't sure we were even going to be able finish, just have to wait until we could make some more money and pay as we go. We have had electricians for free, my dad & Bob hung all the drywall, dad's from soccer have helped us with the mud 'n' tape 'n' texture and all of the trim, doors and baseboards. I didn't even know that all of these people did these things.
God has blessed us. He has given us so much more than we ever expected and I can only be grateful. Thank you to Him and to all of those who have helped us.

So we are nearly there! Yeah! Yahoo! Yeehaw! I have been painting. Painting for real. The downstairs is mocha and the upstairs is blue. i am also painting the bathroom, and the hallway and keegan's new room and .... you get the picture. I am also trying to play with my soccer moms, be the pta mom, voluntee in the class, help in the school office, take kids to practice, and be a wife. I am running out of time. I have to steal an hour here and there to add color. Thank God for all of the friends and family that have helped out. I need to finish the bathroom so we can go back to showering in our own bathroom instead of the boys. That's my plan for this afternoon.
Will get you pix when i get done and you can see the colors that i chose. Hope you like it and can come join us when we finish.
